Laila was a curious and intelligent child raised by intellectuals, and veterans of the failed revolution of Afghanistan in the 1970's.
Her mother Hala; a feminist, was viciously attacked by kingpin and Jihadist Abdulaziz Mohad. Years later, Afghanistan finds Itself pitted against another world super-power. Reluctantly, she forges an alliance with the mislead ideologues who killed her mother and brainwashed the love of her life in order to protect her family and ensure her own survival in the brutal war torn, post-invasion world. An unlikely bond with a severely depressed Marine who suffers from PTSD; and a Taliban mercenary brings forth a chance for Laila to save her loved ones, while bringing justice to the world's purest evils.
